What is the Settlement Fee?

Modified on Sat, 28 Jun at 1:14 AM

Settlement fees are charged when an open position in an options contract is automatically settled at the time of expiry. All such settlement trades are executed as taker trades, and therefore, the taker fee is applicable.

  • Settlement Fee Rate: 0.03% of the notional value

  • Fee Cap: Capped at 10% of the premium paid

The premium cap ensures that options expiring worthless (i.e., out-of-the-money) do not incur any settlement fee, thereby protecting traders from unnecessary charges.
